What the heck is Therapeutic Laughter??

  • Therapeutic Laughter IS:

Based on scientific research in bio, psych, neuro, and immune-ologies with documented health benefits that include:

    shifts in perspective

    reduced stress

    pain relief

    better mood & memory

    mental clarity and creativity

    positive group dynamics

    increased energy and resilience

    more honest communication

    team building and emotional safety

    over-all sense of wellbeing

  • It's NOT:

    Comedy or Jokes

Humor is subjective, and especially during times of stress, “joking” can be a slippery slope into interactions that negate laughter’s healthy effects.

    Toxic positivity

No making light of serious matters, or to turning frowns upside-down. You’re not required to be silly, and you can quit if it stops being fun.

    Funny business

I’m not here to make anybody laugh, and nobody’s forced to participate. Some aspects may challenge certain comfort zones, but we are always working in safe spaces.

    Political, religious, or exclusive

We don’t laugh AT each other, we laugh WITH each other. Everyone smiles in the same language.
